FILMMAKER

I make films for myself and offer production services for others. I love big/huge stimulating projects and smaller, more intimate projects.

  • I work in all areas of filmmaking: writing, directing, producing, editing, shooting. I've worked across genres (from fiction to experimental to documentary) and with different formats (8mm, 16mm, 35mm, video), editing systems (Steenbeck flatbeds to Avid and Final Cut), and sound mixing tools (from analog to digital).

  • Experience is wide-ranging, from directing with 35mm film on bigger sets to personal, intimate experiences like hand painting on 16mm film and making videos and "spontaneous interviews" with iPhones.

  • I've also worked in film acquisition and distribution to get a perspective on that part of the business.

  • I wrote/produced/directed spots for the 2015 Children's Trust (Miami) annual gala, was both a 2016 and 2017 Artist in Residence at the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony (Woodstock. NY), and am in development of a second "Modern Rhymes" romp that follow Baker's Men (see Press Clip below) among other feature length projects and writing.

  • Awards and grants included a NEA Regional Fellowship, a US Embassy Travel Grant, a Florida Individual Artist Fellowship, a Flaherty Seminar Fellowship, a screening at the Telluride Film Festival (for "Lamb Chops"), a Gold Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival (for "Sinking Without Terror"), screening on the Sundance Channel and distribution by the Spiritual Cinema Circle (for "Baker's Men") and showings at festivals worldwide.

  • I love to explore creative possibility and work with terrific people. Have an interesting project you need a director or producer for? Looking for a screenwriting collaborator? Want to invest in one of my projects? Need a consultant to give you the confidence to make it on your own? Feel free to contact me here
